“Virtue is its own reward.”

(English) Meaning:

  1. The reward for behaving virtuously is the satisfaction one feels in doing what one knows to be right.
  2. Often used to warn that we should not expect material rewards for acting virtuously.

(繁)意思:【美德本身就是美德的報酬】。也可以引伸為“善即善報”或“為善最樂”。

(简)意思:

měi

běn shēn jiù shì

měi de bào chóu

也可以引申为“善即善报”或“为善最乐”。
