The equinox is a natural phenomenon which happens twice a year. It is when the length of day time is the same as night time. It happened last week. A few friends from secondary school – friends as old as the sun from over forty years ago – and I were talking about it in terms of the time zones around the earth. That made the equinox almost a two-day event: March 21st in certain countries, such as Canada and United States and March 20th in China and other Asian countries. But then we all figured out it’s one of those things invented by human cleverness that turned out to be more confusing than convincing. Why do we have time zones in the first place? So that we could all have dinner at 6 o’clock but not at the same time? Unlike the equinox, wars are not natural – we purposely make wars. Wouldn’t it be nice that we only fight them two days a year?

I wish There’s only change from summer to fall But between religions and gods no wars |

I wish There’s friendship and there’s amity Upon which we share nature’s seasonal beauty and charity |

Is that too much to ask? |
