A Lost Watch

I lost a watch many years ago
Not a Patek Philippe circa 1838
Nor an imitation Rolex 2008
But a discounted Seiko
That was bought at Costco

My long-time mascot of luck
I prayed it didn’t get crushed by a truck
I prayed someone would find it
I prayed someone would be fond of it

A lost watchI lost a watch many years ago
I looked for it high and low
It wasn’t anything particularly special
But a discounted Seiko
That someone bought me at Costco

My mother once said to me
You have to lose something before you know
How much it meant to you really
How I wished I didn’t lose that Seiko

My son Alix found the watch under a couch a few days ago
Not a Patek Philippe circa 1838
Nor an imitation Rolex 2008
But a discounted Seiko
That someone bought me at Costco

My mother once said to me
You have to lose something before you know
How much it meant to you really
Wouldn’t it be nice
If the only thing I ever lost in life
Was a Seiko?
Wouldn’t it be nice
If the only thing I ever lost in life
Was a Seiko?
