Wah Yan Fair 意中華仁

I went to an old secondary school in Hong Kong called Wah Yan College. It is a school for boys. (Some of the teachers are female.) I heard that in late December the alumni are doing a very big fund-raising concert for it. Since they did not invite me to sing there, I thought I would write a poem here in early celebration of it.

Wah Yan Fair 意中華仁
Lyrics by Camillus Chan 陳寓州, ‘71
(A true knock-off of the Irish folk song Scarborough Fair)

_____________________________________

1 Wah Yan College is my alma mater. It’s a secondary school for grades 7 to 13.(I only finished the 11th.)
2 Wah Yan has 2 campuses: one on the Hong Kong Island and one the Kowloon Peninsula. The school jacket for the HK campus is blue, the Kowloon green.
3 The HK campus is located on Queen’s Road, the Kowloon campus on Waterloo Road.
4 Wah Yan is a Jesuit school. Most of the Catholic priests there are immigrants from Ireland.
