With the numerous recent storms and seemingly never-ending rain that we’ve had over the last few months, California – at least northern California – has officially freed itself from the chains of the dreadful 5-year drought. Not too many people like wet weather. But in the long haul, we need rain and water, which literally is the mother of all life. So let’s not complain about how soggy and unpleasant the weather lately has been, but think about how much good it has done for us.
I Love Rain
Hello, Rain
Ever so gentle
Ever so pure and subtle
Hello, Rain
Ever so patient
Ever so sure and persistent
You clean the air I stock
You fill the lake I walk
You quell my thirst whenever I need it
Oh, Rain, what do I do without you, from this rabbit hole of a pit?
You left and I shriveled in drought
You returned as if to make me happy and proud
And I am, ready to exult
I’ve missed you
What do I have to do, short of sainthood
To make you stay for good?
