“Care killed a cat or Care will kill a cat.”

(English) Meaning:

  1. If care killed a cat, which has nine lives – or so ’tis said, it will kill a person, who has only one life.
  2. Care is a load on the mind.

(繁)意思:【憂慮殺死貓】。也可以引伸為“憂能傷身”或“憂慮傷身”。

(简)意思:

yōu shā

māo

也可以引申为“忧能伤身”或“忧虑伤身”。

Other Learning: The original author, George Wither (1588-1667), who wrote of Christmas: “Hang sorrow! Care will kill a cat, And therefore let’s be merry. (“愁一愁,白了頭” / “愁一愁,白了头”)。
